Journal of STOMATOLOGICAL MEDICINE

The publication “STOMATOLOGICAL MEDICINE” is a periodical with a scientific-didactic profile, in which can be published scientific articles of fundamental and applied value in the field of dentistry by authors from the country and abroad, information about the latest news in dental science and practice, inventions and patents obtained, theses, clinical case studies, opinions and reviews of books and journals. In the publication “STOMATOLOGICAL MEDICINE” there are the following compartments: Theory and Experiment, Organization and History, Odontology-Periodontology. OMF Surgery and Anesthesia, Dental Prosthodontics, Pediatric Dentistry, OMF Prophylaxis, Implantology, General Pathology, Reports and mini-reports, Thesis defense, Opinions and reviews, Dental Personalities.

INSTRUCTIONS
FOR WRITING SCIENTIFIC PAPERS
IN THE JOURNAL OF DENTAL MEDICINE

The papers should be written in two languages: Romanian and English, Russian and English, which, (including tables, figures, bibliography) should not exceed 16 pages for a general review, 12 pages for an original research, 8 pages for a clinical case report, 1 page for a review, 1 page for a summary of a work published abroad. The journal MEDICINA STOMATOLOGICA also accepts the publication of CVs of well-known personalities of dentistry, congratulatory messages on the occasion of various anniversaries related to dental activity, “In Memoriam” messages, announcements concerning the organization of scientific events in the field of dentistry. Paper set up: A4 (210 x 297), Margins Top 2 cm, Bottom 2 cm, Right 2 cm, Left 2 cm.

  1. The title of the paper in the language in which the article is written – uppercase, TNR 12, bold, align center, 1.0 interval;
  2. Authors – should be written one line away from the title, with TNR 12, bold, center aligned, as follows: the author’s first name and last name should be written in lowercase followed only by the professional and scientific titles (italics). Do not pass author’s functions. If there are more than one author and from different institutions, they will be listed in order and marked with 1,2,3 corresponding to the institutions from which they come.
  3. The name of the institution in which the article is written should be written one line below the authors’ names; the institutions should be marked with 1,2,3 etc, as appropriate, as mentioned in the right of each author; the name of the institution should be written in TNR 12, italic, center aligned, lowercase.
  4. The abstract in the language in which the article is written: it will be written one line away from the authors’ institution, with TNR 12, as follows: the word Abstract, bold, left aligned followed by the abstract text maximum 15 lines, justify.
  5. Key words in the language in which the article is written – with TNR 12, as follows: first write Keywords, bold, colon and then a maximum of 5 representative words, in italics. All these words are written left aligned.
  6. The abstract in English should be written one line away from the abstract in the language in which the article is written with TNR 12, as follows: the word Summary, bold, left aligned; followed by the title of the article in English capitalized, bold, left aligned below. The text of the summary in English should be a maximum of 15 lines, justify. The abstract should be concise and logical.
  7. Key words in English – after the summary, with TNR 12, as follows: first write Key words, bold, colon and then a maximum of 5 representative words, in italics. All these words are written left aligned.
  8. The subchapters in the language in which the article is written: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusions, Bibliography should be written in TNR 12, bold, align left, one line away from the text;
  9. Text in the language in which the article is written, with TNR 12, tab – 1, justify.

NOTES:

  • For Romanian articles: Abstract (in Romanian), Summary (in English).
  • For articles in Russian: Резююме (in Russian), Summary (in English) and Rezumat (in Romanian).
  • For articles in English: Summary (in English), Rezumat (in Romanian).

Introduction

The introduction will summarize the need for the research carried out, scientifically arguing its appropriateness. References will be made to the main flow of information and results of research in the field, citing in square brackets the number of the author(s) of the work(s) studied, as it appears in the Bibliography (bibliography at the end of the paper). The text will be written in the line following the Introduction with TNR 12, justify.

Materials and methods

References should be made to the biological material used, the way the experiments were organized, the databases used, the period of the research, the unit, the place, the area where the research was carried out, the statistical methods, the standard procedures used, etc. All these should be clearly and succinctly described. The text should be written with TNR 12, justify.

Results and discussions

Present the results obtained from the research in a logical sequence to enable the reader to interpret the data correctly. The presentation of significant results should be accompanied by discussions, comments referring to their scientific interpretation. Comparisons should be made with the results obtained by other authors in the literature. The text will be written with TNR 12, justify.

Tables, graphs, figures will be included in the text and will be written as :

For tables:
Tab. 1. followed by the title of the table, with TNR 10, italic, align center.The text and figures in the table should be written with TNR 10, 8 or a smaller font size, depending on the situation, so that the figures remain all on one line. Each table must have a serial number and title.

For figures:
Under the respective figure write: Fig.1., Fig. 2., Fig. 3. etc. followed by the figure title with TNR 10, italic, align center.
Each figure must have a serial number and title. Photographs, drawings, schemes and diagrams are considered as figures.

Conclusions

The main important ideas, conclusions, recommendations, etc. that emerge from the research will be listed. These should be written in justify, with TNR 12 .

Bibliography

The bibliography will be listed as follows:
Bibliography with TNR 12, bold, align left, one line before the last line of the conclusions.
Underneath, write the order number and order the works studied in alphabetical order of the first author’s name.
They will be written with TNR 10, as follows:
For books: author’s first and last name (lowercase), full title, publisher, place of publication, year of publication, number of pages.
Example: Coleman James, Dental prophylaxis, CERMA, London, 2000, 143 p.


In the case of translations: author’s name and surname (in lowercase), title of the work, references to the translation and translator(s) according to the title page, publisher, place of publication, year of publication, number of pages.
Example: Hegel Georg Hegel, Principiile eticii profesionale, translated by Virgil Bogdan and Constantin Floru, Academica, Bucharest, 1979, 235 p.

In the case of studies published in journals: author’s name and surname (in lowercase), full title of the study (in quotation marks ” “), name of the journal, volume, issue, year of publication, pages between which the study is included.
Example: Lupan Ion, Spinei Aurelia, Spinei Aurelia, Spinei Iurie “Oral health program in children with disabilities and special educational needs for the years 2012-2014: opportunities and prospects for realization”, Medicina stomatologică, Nr.4(25)/2012, pp. 7-14.
 
In the case of reviews: the name and surname of the author of the review (in lower case), followed by the words [recenzie la/review of], the name and surname of the author reviewed (in lower case), the title of the work reviewed, the publisher, the place of publication, the year of publication, followed by the words [ In: ], then the name of the journal in which the review appeared, the volume, the number, the year of publication, the pages between which the review appears.
Example: Jaume Lucien, review of Foisneau Luc, Hobbes et la toute-puissance de Dieu, PUF, Paris, 2000, In: Revue Française de Science Medicale, vol. 51, no. 1-2, 2001, pp. 306-310.

In the case of web pages: full address of the page, followed by the date of access. consulted on 27.09.2012.

Corresponding author: Author’s full name, contact phone, e-mail, address of the institution where he/she works, other useful information. Indicate the author’s contact details with whom correspondence will be made regarding any changes to the work.

NOTES:

  • Papers will not be accepted for publication if they do not contain the Bibliography chapter.
  • Papers will not be accepted for publication if each bibliographical source included in the Bibliography chapter is not referenced in the text.
  • In the text, the citation of bibliographic sources is made only by mentioning the order number in square brackets. Example: [1, 2, …, n], in ascending order.

IMPORTANT!

The authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of calculations, experimental data and scientific interpretations, as well as for the correctness of the English language editing.
Each paper will be submitted in print and electronic form and will be accompanied by 2 reviews (one review on the scientific content of the paper and another review on the technical writing of the paper) signed by members of the editorial board.
Articles that do not meet the above requirements will be returned to the authors for the necessary amendments.
